A project by Duangrit Bunnag.

“The Hotel Cha Am (originally known as Alila Cha Am) is a seventy nine room resort next to the beach of Cha Am, small vacation city in Petchaburi, Thailand. We worked on all design aspects of the hotel: Architecture, Interior design and Landscape architecture. The project is recognised through its boldly geometry and blunt architectural dialogue. Underneath the simple geometries of the project lies the complex thought of materiality and architectural composition vocabulary. Thus, despite those hash modern languages, the natural coherence exists, still.”

It’s a bit hard to see but the duck is wearing a shirt with fake hands that say “happy new year” on one hand and “2012” on the other. There’s also a strobe light on his collar. Quite a strange pet to have and even a stranger way to dress it up.

El 6 de octubre de 1976 tuvo lugar en la Universidad de Thammasat un violento ataque llevado a cabo contra los estudiantes que se manifestaban contra el dictador Thanom Kittikachorn. El retorno del dictador a Tailandia provocó protestas muy violentas, con manifestantes disparados, golpeados, mutilados, colgados y quemados hasta la muerte.

Un año después, Neal Ulevich ganaba el Premio Pulitzer por una fotografía que mostraba al resto del mundo el desorden y la brutalidad vivida en las calles de Bangkok.
